Motherboard Diagnostic Card Basics

The motherboard diagnostic card is nothing new, but the computer diagnostic card has changed recently, not only is it now available as a USB device which means it can easily be swapped between any computer with a USB port, but the interface is now usable without a degree in computer science, plus we have seen a drop in prices as more companies have designed their own units.

For any one reading this, but does not fully understand what a hardware diagnostic card can do, let us just briefly go over this.

Motherboard diagnostic cards are basically self contained, fitting into the PCI or USB ports, from here they can analyze hardware issues from bios problems, video, motherboard to complete system failures on apparently dead systems.

The ease of using this type of diagnostic device allows us to save many hours of trial an error, after all if a system fails, it could be a number of items connected to the motherboard such as the RAM, video card, processor causing the problem rather than the actual motherboard.

Trial and error fixing of faults is not just costly in terms of time, but it also means having to have stock items that may never be used.

The latest type of diagnostic card which has a USB interface means we don’t now even have to open up a computer to plug into the PCI slot, we have found this feature alone saves many hours per week meaning we can maximize our profits and offer a faster more efficient service to clients.

There are a number of computer diagnostic cards on the market and to a certain extent you do get what you are paying for, if you’re looking for your first computer hardware diagnostics card find a mid range one that offers a good, but broad range or analysis and work from here.

I speak from experience when I say, if you purchase a card that’s diagnostic test range is too narrow or specific then you may find yourself purchasing another six months down the line, as it will of course only test specific hardware meaning many hardware faults will be missed, and you’ll still be down to the elimination process when it comes to those annoying hard to pinpoint problems.

If you have an established small or large pc repair business then it’s something that should benefit your business if you deal with hardware issues and want to maximize your service in terms of service and profit.

Checkout companies such as uxd.com they have a wide range of cards at good prices
