We’ve all been to the movies and enjoyed the very latest superb 3D movie technology, imagine having that on your laptop, and being able to watch 3D movies and play 3D games
The ASUS G53JW-3DE is here and it offers all of this in one of the most power laptops on the planet.
If you want a laptop that will play just about every game, play Blu-Ray disks, plus supports 3D its going to have to have monster specs.
The ASUS G53JW-3DE has just that, it’s more powerful than just about any laptop around and for its price tag of just $1600 makes it the cheapest gaming laptop when we consider price vs. specification.

ASUS have been known for a while now to make hardcore gaming machines at great prices and the ASUS G53JW-3DE is no exception, I’m not a fan of badges, I’m always much more impressed with what’s in the box, what it can do and what it costs.
After all many laptops do use the same components.
The laptop itself really is a small powerful desktop replacement; battery life is relatively short at around 2 hours, but try finding a laptop that offers better battery life with these specs.
As a gaming machine the G53JW is exceptional, running at 1.73 GHZ this can be upped to 2.93 GHZ with the single touch Extreme turbo mode.
The graphics performance is further enhanced by Nvidia’s GTX460M which offers 1.5 GB of dedicated RAM.
Image quality from the 15.6 inch screen is bright and clear when sitting in front of the screen, although it can be quite hard to see when observing from the side.
Overall the matt black looks of the laptop make it look purposeful if somewhat understated, it’s a solid machine that feels very well put together, which will be well tested the way that some of my colleagues hammer the keyboard.
The 3D experience of the ASUS G53JW-3DE is very good and it shows what is coming, although there are not many 3D movies or games currently around they are in the pipeline, many electronic companies are, or have already released 3D televisions, and are seriously backing this technology.
