| If you have no personal folder , the chances are you’re using something like an exchange server , if this is the case, all of you emails will be backed up elsewhere.  If you so wish you can still add a personal folder from here and then manually move any files to this through the main Outlook screen.  Generally you will only need one personal folder, as this can stored up to 600mb of emails, if you find that you have more than this, you can add multiple personal folders through the mail setup screen. Once you’re happy you have added / found the location of you personal folder , quit out of Outlook . Now go to the location you made a note of and you will see your personal folder , copy this to where you would like it backed up. Please note make sure you only copy and not move the file, also make sure Outlook is not open otherwise the file will be locked and you will not be able to copy it properly. If you ever need to restore the file, you can either replace the original of if you wish to create a new personal folder . Copy the backed up personal folder to your hard disk and then create a new personal folder from outlook , set the path to the existing file , now you should have another personal folder, Tips When you create a new personal folder or use an existing one , make sure you give it a logical name, having two personal folders with the same name can be very confusing. Like I said earlier a personal folder or pst file will quite happily store up to 600 megabytes of data .
