Create backup fonts

Its always worth backing up Windows fonts for a couple of reasons, if your computer breaks or files become corrupt, you will be very pleased you did, apart from the standard Windows fonts, purchasing custom fonts can be expensive. As as many fonts are downloaded, they are usually only stored in one place and can easily be lost.

If you have to restore or rebuild your computer and you lose the custom Fonts , of course any where you previously used them will be affected, Windows will then substitute the custom font.

Creating backup fonts is pretty straight forward , we have a couple of ways to do this, the first is to just copy the whole fonts directory , this is the easiest way, but that means extra storage space.

The Fonts folder is around 60mb , most of these are Fonts that come with Windows, so if you have limited space you might want to just backup the custom ones.

All fonts should be stored in C:WindowsFonts , you can access the Fonts folder/directory through Windows Explorer , My Computer or just type Fonts from the Start / Run menu

You should then see the fonts directory
