Where did the name come from?
The name has been around a long time in computing terms, and has become widely used over the past 10 years.

It originated from development of IBM’s OS/2 operating system and as the name suggests the original errors encountered on a blue screen were much more terminal than those encountered using Windows operating systems.

Why does the Blue Screen of Death Occur?
The bsod occurs when the Operating systems Kernel or an application driver running in Kernel mode encounters a critical error that the system cannot recover from, the only action that can be taken with this type of error is a complete system halt. When this happens any unsaved files will probably be lost.

The stop 0X1E type error messages as in the illustration indicates that the operating system Kernel has detected an error, this is usually due to files or applications trying to the Kernels protected memory area.

The stop 0XA usually indicates a driver issue, this can be generated by driver updates, non compatible drivers, corrupted drivers or faulty hardware, luckily many 0XA errors display the problem driver or drivers which means it’s relatively easy to pinpoint the fault, from here you have a number of choices
