Joann: Question
I have a problem with my computer it won't cover the complete screen of the compu
ter

Answer
Sounds as though the Windows resolution is not set correctly to enable it to fit the entire screen, if you right click on the desktop > Select Properties > now select the Settings tab > you’ll now see the Screen Resolution slider > move this to the right > try a resolution of 1024 x 768 to begin with and increase this as necessary to find the correct resolution, for more info please visitOur monitors page

David: Question

I bought a Compaq Presario 1622 laptop, has windows 98 installed, here is the kicker it's in Spanish, how can I change it to English. Thanks for any help!! David

Answer
Hi you'll either need the English language pack, which may be hard to find or purchase an English version of Windows 98 or even upgrade to ME, eBay would probably be the best bet, should be very cheap.

Janet: Question

Our so called high speed is slower than dial up was. We are paying for high speed and getting nothing. We download a movie to watch and it stops in the middle of it and you can't get it back. I was able to view 1 movie, used pause and lost it, then can't get it back. Downloaded another one and can't view it. Why is my 'high speed dsl' so darn slow. I'm thinking of going back to dial up...it's faster. it took 11 1/2 minutes to get a connection. yeah, real fast.

Answer
firstly we need to ascertain the actual speed you are getting from your ISP, if you go towww.speedtest.net run the test and you see both your upload and download speeds, if it allows you initially to run a movie and then the connection drops, this could be an issue with your ADSL Router/Modem dropping the connection, many routers have an idle connection setting that can be set to disconnect if not used for anything down to a minute, then it can be difficult to get back online, so firstly check the speed and if it’s significantly lower than what your paying for contact your ISP they will be able to look into this, if you have an 8mb connection it is very rare to get the full 8mb, but anything under 30% of this shows there is an issue probably with the line, so make sure you have line filters on any phone extensions, then the issue can only be with the ISP, if you need help logging on to your router to check the idle timeout.

Jeremy: Question

I have an old Nec Versa 4080h laptop i picked up at a garage sale for 15$ and was wondering if I could hook the old computer up to my newer Acer aspire desktop to put some small games, backgrounds, music and so forth on to my old laptop that has no cd reader no usb port no internet hookups but most of the rest the Ethernet is also very large like I have never seen before.... can you help?

Answer

Crikey that laptops a blast from the past, I believe with this model it has a floppy drive in the front and this can be swapped for a cd drive, best place to look is eBay, or as it has 2 pcmcia ports you could purchase a cabled or wifi network card, the only issue may be getting hold of the drivers if it is still running its original Windows 95, not sure about the big Ethernet port though

Question can I write to a CD after closing the session

My Prob. is Regarding CD, i have 2 cd's which i had burn using Nero 6 but i forgot to put multisession option "ON",now i am unable to write further on the same CD's as multission is there any software which can multisessioned the ulready burnt cd's which does not have multisession option ON.. plz reply as soon as possible waiting for u r reply....thank you

Answer

Unfortunately not, if the multisession option has not been enabled and the session is closed it in effect turns a standard CD into WORM type media (Write Once Read Many) this is a physical change to the CD which cannot be reverted.

If however the CD’s you are using are CD-RW then you can simply back them up and burn them again with multisession enabled.
