Before we delve
into the nuts and bolts of our disaster recovery article we
really need to break the whole process down into sections, this
includes Backups, causes of hardware failures, causes of
software failures, ideas to recover from hardware disasters and
of course software disasters.
Backups are a vital part
of any disaster recovery plan, of course a restore should only

fact no more so to you than losing all of your data, read more

Causes of
hardware failures, hardware failures are primarily limited to
only a few pieces of hardware, no image on the screen or a dead

operating system that’s affected which will normally stop a
computer booting or launching files, normally there is a simple
reason for a software failure, something has changed, regardless
of whether you’ve made a system change, some piece of software
has been upgraded or a virus has infected your pc, it’s all
comes down to software changes, read more here…

found, it’s worth accessing the computers BIOS to make sure the
hard drive can be seen, normally a hard drive will be auto
detected, read more here…
Software disaster
recovery, does the pc boot up? If not can you see any
picture on the screen? If you can and it does boot up or at
least tries to, maybe stalling halfway through boot up, does
indicate a software issue, simplest recovery technique from here
is a system restore, read more here…

break down disaster recovery into sections to make it easier to
pinpoint specific issues, if you have a problem we don’t cover
