Urghhh I hear you say , but making a single change to the windows registry is pretty simple if you follow a few basic rules , firstly make sure you backup the registry , just in case the worst happens. From the start menu , select run , type “ regedit ” without the quotes and click ok, now you’ll see the registry editor . Now locate the following registry key

Follow the registry path above , once you reach the end you will see an entry on the right called IsInstalled , right click on this and choose modify , now change the value from 1 to 0 . Quit the registry editor and now reinstall Internet Explorer. This really is a last resort , make sure you backup any internet favorites you wish to keep , it’s easy and only takes a few minutes ,
