How to Fix internet Explorer ?
When it comes to
trying to fix internet explorer problems there can be a whole

You have to remember
that not every website is faultless , so if you find all other
websites work apart from one , then maybe it’s not a problem
with Internet Explorer .
Another good way to
test this is to have another browser installed , such as
Netscape or Firefox, then just run a comparison on the same site
using an alternative.
Usually the simplest
way to fix internet explorer is to run some basic maintenance
such as deleting internet history and temporary files,

Explorer Wont Access The Internet
One of the most common issues is when you have a dial-up
connection and then you change this for another type such as
broadband ,
although it appears
to connect to your ISP ok , you still cannot get anything on
Internet Explorer or your other default browser.
This is caused by
your Winsock file becoming confused or corrupted , as it still
looks for the previous connection.
If this is the case
you need to reset your Winsock file , this can easily be done by
downloading
Winsock fix from here " right click and
select save to download " you’ll have to reboot
your computer once this is done.

If your getting script
errors , but your still able to browse ok , it’s probably an
issue with the site or sites that you are browsing.
Rather than trying to
fix the errors why not just disable the error reporting , to do
this , from internet explorer , tools menu , internet options ,
advanced tab , Browsing section , and tick disable script
debugging .

To perform any kind of system
maintenance when you are trying to fix internet explorer make
sure you are logged in either as administrator or an account
with administrator equivalencies . You will also need to
reinstall any service packs or patches.

If none of the above works you really need to re-install or
repair / fix internet explorer .
You have a couple of
choices , if Windows was working ok and now it’s not you can
restore your system to an earlier time , when it was working to

The only other way to
fix internet explorer , is to put it back to the way it first
was when originally installed. If you are using Internet
Explorer with Windows XP SP1 , it’s worth upgrading to service
pack 2 to see if this will solve the problem.

If for reasons such as compatibility you do not with to update
to service pack 2 then from the Start menu , type “ sfc /scannow
“ without the quotes and then click ok. You might be prompted
for the service pack on files .
Once the repair is
completed , after rebooting check your browser to see if fixed.
The second option if
you are already running Windows XP with service pack 2 is to
simply
re-install the service pack.
If at anytime you receive an error , stating a newer version has
been found or , setup cannot continue you’ll need to make a
registry change.
Urghhh I hear you say
, but making a single change to the windows registry is pretty
simple if you follow a few basic rules , firstly make sure you
backup the registry , just in case the worst happens.

From the start menu ,
select run , type “ regedit ” without the quotes and click ok,
now you’ll see the registry editor .
Now locate the
following registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\SOFTWARE\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\Microsoft\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\Active
Setup\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\Installed
Components\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\{89820200-ECBD-11cf-8B85-00AA005B4383}
Follow the registry path above , once you reach the end you will
see an entry on the right called Is Installed , right click on
this and choose modify , now change the value from 1 to 0 .
Quit the registry
editor and now reinstall Internet Explorer.
