Free Search Engine Submission Getting Into The Search Engines

Many sites offer free search engine submission , but do you really need this?, like many other site owners when I first started a website I submitted pages to all the big search engines, and even then it still took a very long time to make it into Google and Yahoo. But having created quite a few sites now, I never submit a site to the search engines.

So to be honest do not would not worry about getting into the search engines by using search engine submissions.

Time would be better spent performing the following rather than directly worrying about getting into the search engines .

Make sure you create a Google sitemap, see below for how to do this, this will enable search engines such as Google to see when you make any changes to your site very quickly.

Inbound linking, this is one of the quickest ways to get free search engine submission, you’ll need to make sure the link is coming from a website with a Google page rank of 4 or above, checkout our other page for info on Google page rank.

If you can get an inbound link from such a site you could get listed in Google in under 48 hours, this can be a catch 22 situation though, many people with high ranking sites will not want to link to your new site as it offers them nothing, if anything by linking to much lower sites it may actually damage your site, and without such a link it may take a while to get indexed.
If you can’t manage to get a few decent inbound link then next best thing is to create an account and link from myspace or you tube and this will help.

But in general the more inbound links you get to your site the more importance search engines will place on it, and give your websites pages a higher ranking in the search index.

This brings us to how does a search engine work , each search engine has it’s very own search bots, these bots scour the web looking for web site changes, these changes are then reflected in the search engine indexes, if the bots don’t know about your site then they simply won’t index it, if you get an incoming link from a high ranked site the bots will see your site when indexing the other site.
