Google Adsense Revenue Down ?
or Simply Want to Increase it ?

Google Adsense revenue down on what you normally earn? or you want to simply increase Google Adsense revenue - Find out how to get it back on track, read on.

Earning Only Pennies Per Click One of the most common reasons for your Google Adsense revenue down is MFA’s this is a particular type of website MFA or Made for Adsense sites really offer nothing and yet can get your site penalised.

The way this works is someone creates a website that in itself is showing Adsense ads, now they advertise their website via Google Adwords, and then the ad for their site may appear on your website as an Adsense ad.

You may think how can this work? But bear with me

The MFA site owner sets his maximum cost per click to few pennies or cents so if anyone clicks on one of the ads on your site you will earn around 60% of this, the MFA site will have a visitor and then hopes the visitor will click on one of his ads for bigger money.

As the MFA site does not actually sell a product Google will see this as a click through from your site, but no click through to sale, when this happens often enough,

You could be smart priced and then Google will penalize you for a low click through to sale rate.

You will then get low Google Adsense revenue not only due to the MFA clicks, but also due to smart pricing

The way around this is to block the MFA sites from advertising on your site via your Google Adsense console – under Adsense Setup and Manage ads.

You can build a list of MFA sites in two ways, the easiest is to use a service such as Adsblacklist this will give you a list to filter out, or you can trawl through your site manually, when you find them add them to the filter (just make sure you don’t click on the ads, as I’m sure your well area of being banned for doing this.

Many sites report this as a good way to increase Google Adsense revenue

The ironic thing is the MFA sites also run this type of filter; after all they don’t want to advertise for other MFA sites.

Low Click Through Rate
The most common reason for a low click through rate is simply due to ads which are not inline with the sites content.

The easiest way to check this is to skim through your site and visually check if the ads match up with the content.

If you have a large site with thousands of pages an easier way in the long term is to use a service such as Google Analytics, its free so just setup your account and add the Analytics code to each page, once this is done you will be able to see which pages are getting lots of impressions, but a low click rate, then you can manually check these pages, this is a great way to increase Google Adsense revenue.

Usually it’s just a question of changing the top paragraph of any content and being a little more assertive with the wording to get the type of ads you want on your site.

Google recognises this as being a problem with some sites and Adsense they advise section targeting as a way to help fix this.

Section targeting means literally telling Google Adsense which parts of your sites content should be used to decide which ads should be placed.

Add this section to your pages code to tell Google Adsense which section of content to use.
<!– google_ad_section_start –> content goes here, content goes here, content goes here, content goes here, content goes… <!– google_ad_section_end –>

You can also de-emphasize certain portions of your content using a very similar method

<!– google_ad_section_start(weight=ignore) –> content to ignore goes here, content to ignore goes here, content to ignore goes here, content to ignore goes here, content to ignore… <!– google_ad_section_end –>

Google Adsense revenue down ? the third reason, this is could simply just be down to the current economic climate, not as many people advertising through Google Adwords, meaning not as many advertisers on Adsense, not as much competition, keeping revenue per click down, maybe this is one of the reasons that Google has relaxed its ad to content matching.
