Which GPS USB

A GPS USB based system is now the most common type available, although there are still older type receivers with serial type connections available.
The USB based receiver has many more advantages over the serial based type, such as ease to install, and swap between computers, lower power consumption, and faster updates.

The later generation of GPS with a USB connection look very similar to a USB pen drive and are easily small enough to fit in a pocket, they also have lots of cool extras such as

Spy mode that enables you to track anyone carrying one of these

Once you’ve completed a journey the data can simply be downloaded to your laptop and then you can plot where you’ve been using Google Earth.

You can even use it on holiday and then not just show friends and family holiday photo’s but actually show them where you’ve been, how cool is that.
A good GPS system with the above features should cost around $200, but for good base units, prices start at around $60.

When looking for a GPS system always make sure your system offers

Frequent road map updates Maps for other countries Updates for extras such as traffic reports, fixed speed cameras etc

It’s worth spending the extra to get exactly what you’re looking for or you’ll only be buying another 6 months down the line.
