How do I change screen size or resolution ?

In answer to how do I change screen size , technically the screen resolution, it’s very easy to do but there are a few points worth checking out while you are doing this.

To change the screen size either right click on the desktop and select Properties or from the Start Menu choose Control Panel& then Display, now choose the Settings tab, now choose the resolution you’d like to change to using the slider, the further to the right the slider is moved the higher the resolution will be.

Resolution
Generally there are 4 pretty standard screen resolution sizes all measured in pixels ( a pixel is used as a screen measurement) 640x480 pixels basically means that the screen will be 640x480 pixels and everything on the screen will look large, the next size is 800x600 pixels followed by 1024x768 and 1200x1024, some larger screens can go much higher 1600x1200 for example, but at this resolution everything is very small, generally for a 17” monitor 1024x768 is good for most people.

Refresh Rate
One of the most over looked principles of changing a monitors settings is the refresh rate, this can be found by clicking on the Advanced tab in Display Properties, select Monitors, it’s always best to have the refresh rate as high as possible.

The higher the refresh rate, the more stable a picture will look, have the refresh rate too low and not only will you notice the screen flickering when looking from the side of your eye, but this is not good as it can result in eye strain and a headache from computer screen.

One word of warning, if you do increase the refresh rate to not exceed the limitations of your monitor, as you might damage it. Windows today is very good at detecting which modes your screen can operate at, but be warned.

Generally when selecting a screen resolution it’s a fine balance, the lower the screen resolution, of course the larger everything is on screen, the larger everything on the screen the less you can visibly fit on the screen. The higher the resolution the more you can fit on a screen, but then the smaller everything is and harder to see, so it’s good to find a balance in between that’s right for you.

Other..
Anti glare filters are supposed to remove the glare from a computers monitor, this depends on the actual monitor, modern screens today should not require this as they already have very low glare, and adding an anti glare filter may actually make the screen harder to see.
