How Does An Inkjet Cartridge Work , Inkjet Cartridge Basics
How does an inkjet cartridge work , the Inkjet cartridge is usually considered a disposable product, although we should be recycling them to help the environment, plus also save ourselves some money.
Inkjet cartridges come in two distinct types the single and the multiple reservoir color cartridges; they also may contain the print head, metal contacts and a processor that communicates with the printer. Each reservoir of the cartridge regardless as to whether it’s single or multiple reservoir contains a small metal plate, a small current is then passed through it heating the ink, any ink around the plate is then vaporized, causing it to expand, and forcing a drop of ink to fall onto the paper beneath it, this process then occurs many thousands of times a second creating the actual print job from thousands of ink drops. Lower quality inkjet printers print with less in drops, higher quality, more expensive printers print with more smaller drops creating a much higher DPI or dots per inch.
The cheapest printers usually only use a single inkjet cartridge which contains all of the colors the downside of this type of printer is the waste of ink, the most common color is black and this always runs out first, as soon as it does the rest of the ink is wasted unless you recycle. The next type of inkjet printer uses separate cartridges, initially the printer may cost more than the single cartridge printer, but it will make up for this simply due to the ink cartridge design. TIP.. When printing only print in higher resolutions when needed, this way your ink will last longer and the printing will be quicker Read our other articles
