Remember to re-enable it once you have finished creating your image , also remember you will have to enable it on image if you ever need to restore.   This could save you up to a gig or more in image size so it’s definitely worth it.   Then after seeing the size of the file, you can decide the best place to backup to, the image / backup will be a single file so this can quite literally be copied.

Generally the size of an image will be over a few gigs so , a normal CD copier will be of no use, a single layer DVD writer will enable you to backup about 4.7gb,

Remember though when backup the file , how easy is it going to be to restore, if you are using something like a tape drive , restoring may be a little difficult, using an external hard drive or secondary internal are the easiest options.
