Did you know ad colors and placement play a major role in getting visitors to click on your ads?

One of the best ways to make money with Adsense is to experiment, but as an initial setup remember visitors read from left to right so put your first Adsense block on the left at the top – the next a few lines beneath this on the right – and the last a few lines under this on the left, this way you still advertise, but do not push lots of advertising into your visitors face preventing them from reading your content on the page.

Remember, regardless of whether visitors clicks on your ads, if they get a rewarding visit and find what they are looking for they will be more inclined to return or recommend your site to other visitors, which could result in thousands of extra hits in a short space of time.

The next thing to change is the fonts and colors, use ad colors which blend in with the look of your site, this usually results in a higher CTR or click through rate.

Just make sure your ads are not in your visitors face too much, or they will go out of their way to ignore them.

Also remember if you want someone to click on something, make the URL Blue as this is generally accepted to be a hyperlink.

In my experience I have found websites to offer better click through rates when compared to many blogs or forums, and have managed to get many websites CTR to around 10% which means an average site getting around 5000 visitors per day will get around 500 clicks, each click being based on 28 cents would mean a monthly income of approx $4200 per month.

As you can see yes you can make money with Google Adsense – but remember there are other advertising programs around which can also be very lucrative, such as Amazon, eBay, Clickbank, or Chitika.

Keeping all your eggs in the Adsense basket means you could in effect be limiting your sites revenue.

The only way to keep increasing your revenue apart from adding more and more content is to keep testing various advertising methods, just remember to keep a notebook or journal of your findings.
