0x800ccc15 – SOCKET_CONNECT_ERROR Unable to open Windows Socket
Outlook cannot connect and send or receive emails. Generally occurs for connectivity reasons, this can include no limited or no network/internet connectivity, software firewall blocking ports, or email provider service issue.
0×80042108 – Outlook is Unable to Connect to Your Incoming POP3 Server
Can you access the internet or receive emails? If you can then ensure you have the right POP3 server and authentication in place, also make sure any firewall software is not blocking the incoming mail port 110. 0x800ccc0e – Socket error 10061
Exchange Server client receives an error message when it tries to send or receive e-mail, if getting this Microsoft Outlook error when sending an email ensure port 25 is not blocked by any firewall software, if you cannot receive any mail ensure the same with port 110
0x8004210b – Waiting for Server Response
Try increasing the email timeout, this can be changed from the Advanced tab of the email account properties. If this fail the issue most likely will lie with your email provider, check on their home page or contact them to check if there any current issues, and resolution times.
0x800ccc0b – Unknown error
Although this particular Microsoft Outlook error is classed as unknown is most respects the symptoms and fixes are the same as 0x8004210b
0x800ccc79 – Cannot Send Messages
You can send messages from Outlook, but not Outlook Express, usually down to Microsoft Exchange credentials required, even for SMTP. To resolve check the box My Server Requires Authentication and then enter your credentials.
0x800ccc67 – Cannot Send or Receive Messages
Make sure incoming or outgoing connections are not blocked by any firewall software (disable the firewall software for a few seconds to test) Check email settings such as server names, usernames and passwords and authentication settings. If this all fails check to see if the problem only occurs at certain times of the day as this could point towards a connections limitation issue with your email provider.
0×80040900 – Server Name on the Network Cannot be found
This Microsoft Outlook error frequently occurs due to problems with an email profile, usually re-creating the profile will resolve the issue, but if this is not an option running a registry scan and fix using tools such as RegClean or AusLogics may be able to resolve the issue.
0x800ccc81 – Can Receive But Not Send Emails
Make sure that the Outgoing SMTP server is specified and not the same as the POP3 incoming server check with your ISP for the correct SMTP outgoing server name. A common mistake people make is to use the outgoing server name provided by their email provider. As a rule of thumb, your incoming POP3 server is the one given by your email provider, and the outgoing POP3 is the one provided by your Internet service provider.
If this fails it’s usually quicker to delete and recreate your email profile.
