Net Meeting In XP

Net meeting in XP is a great piece of software, not only does XP net meeting enable us to have virtual online meetings with anyone with a half decent internet connection, anywhere in the word, this means you can full participate in discussions, work within shared data, plus of course you can always talk using, audio, video or simply by typing.

If you are already using Windows XP then net meeting is already installed, it’s just not added as a menu item as Microsoft would prefer people to use Windows Messenger as opposed to net meeting.

If you are using another operating system and wish to install net meeting install the hotfix 927853 from Microsoft.com, which is where you can also download net meeting ver3

To begin using net meeting in XP , go to the Start Menu , Select Run , Now type Conf , you should then see net meeting info screen, advising you what net meeting can do.
Click next and enter your information into the configuration screen.

After this you’ll need to decide if you want to be added to a server directory, if everyone you’ll be speaking to does or does not login to a directory simple follow the same. My company generally chooses to and we have found no problems with this.
Choose your network speed .
Select your Shortcut Preferences.
Tune your Audio settings from the Wizard screen Now make sure you have a Microphone plugged in to test the record level, many computers, especially laptops have built in Microphones, but many of these are pretty dire, so an external one is the best choice.

And that’s it follow the prompts through to finish. If you want to manually create an XP net meeting shortcut find the net meeting application in C--Program-Files—Netmeeting—Conf.exe right click on Conf.exe , Select Create Shortcut and select Yes when asked to place shortcut on the desktop.
