Reinstall Internet Explorer ver 6 & 7

A reinstall of Internet Explorer can fix a whole multitude of browser related issues such as slowness, missing or corrupt files,

 

To reinstall Internet Explorer you first need to ascertain which version your computer is running .

 

To find the version of internet explorer launch and go to the Tools menu > Help > About Internet Explorer now you will see the version 6 or 7

 

If you are running 6 it’s a good idea to take the chance to upgrade to version 7 to do this go to www.microsoft.com/updates

 

Reinstall Internet Explorer 6

We need to find the file Ie.inf

You can either search for the file or type the following from the Start menu select Run and type %systemroot%\\inf hit Enter now you’ll be presented with a list of inf files, locate Ie.inf now Right Click on it and select Install .

You may be prompted for your Windows CD during the file copying

Once complete reboot your computer.

 

Reinstall Internet Explorer 7

Launch application, select the Tools menu > Internet Options > select the Advanced tab > select Reset

In the Restore Internet Explorer Settings box select Reset

 

Restart computer
