Can anyone tell me why my Dell boat anchor laptop now crashes when put into standby? Happens when lid is shut and also when manually told to go into standby.
When I raise the lid, the computer processes for about ten seconds, then turns itself off. Any ideas why?
I’ve checked for viruses and any hardware problems, but still the problem occurs.
The problem could be several things such as a RAM issue, reboot the laptop hold down the F11 key and select diagnostics then check all of the hardware.
Depending on the exact Laptop model you might find that standby mode is not supported, in this case its worth disabling it within the control panel, power options.
