There are a number of ways of how to customize web msn messenger .

The newer versions have a lot of features that can be changed around to suit your personal taste, this can include the Fonts, Background, Custom MSN pictures and pretty much the whole look.

Fonts
To change your chat Font go to the Tools Menu this can either be in the main Web messenger screen or a chat screen. .

Select Options , now choose the Messages tab, then simply choose change font, there are lots to choose from , including different colors and styles.

A good Font for MSN is comic sans bold , size 10 to 12 .

What is a Good Font for MSN?

Note .. you will have to close and re-open any chat boxes to get the font changes to take effect.

Adding a personal custom message for your contacts to see you can either click in the personal message itself on the main screen or From the Tools menu , select options , select the Personal tab, where it says

Type a personal message

Add your custom message, from here you can also use emoticons, for example..

Never too busy to chat to a friend (y) would look like.

Adding a custom MSN picture to your Window Messenger
Having a custom picture in place of the usual MSN image , really gives your MSN a personal touch and look.

A custom image can either be any of the following formats , jpg – gif – bmp or png .

Once you’ve got your image ready and you wish to add it to your web messenger you just need to click on the image from the main screen, they you’ll get a menu of all other available standard MSN images.

Click on browse and navigate to the image you wish to use.

Sometimes it takes a few minutes to change, so your contacts will be able to see it.

So bare this in mind if you change the image in the middle of a chat.

Also I’d advise against using images with too much detail , when it’s scaled down it will not look as good.

To change your Web MSN background, select my backgrounds from the tools menu or hit the background button.

You can either choose one of the built in backgrounds or select one of your own images.

As soon as you change the background it will automatically try and share it with your current contact.

You can easily stop this by hitting cancel.

To install an MSN pack just select the MSN pack button
