Creating a Windows Shutdown Button
Windows Restart Button

The Windows shutdown button , Want a simple way to power off or restart your computer from a single button on the Desktop?

Why not setup desktop shortcut buttons to do this!

To create a power off button to begin with create a shortcut on your desktop, on the desktop right click select Create Shortcut, from the popup screen type or copy and paste the following for location.

%windir%\\System32\\shutdown.exe -s -f -t 00

Next name the shortcut to Shutdown and finish

To create a Windows restart button

Follow the same procedure as above but enter the following as the location

%windir%\\System32\\shutdown.exe -r

Now name as Restart

Do the icons look a little bland? Lets brighten then up a little, right click on either icon, select the Shortcut Tab, select Change Icon, now select the icon you wish to use.

You can change icons for all shortcuts using the same method as above.
