Windows Vista Repair Guide
Windows Vista repair is generally very easy to perform
with little or no technical skills, when Microsoft created Vista
they not only made it easy to use, but also maintain.
Automated Vista System Repair
To begin with you need to boot from your Windows disk.
Put it into the CD/DVD drive and you should
then see
Press any key to boot from CD or DVD..
Now the
computer will boot up from the Windows disk and you will then
see the following Install Windows screen

Choose your Language - Time and Currency format and Keyboard
layout

Now we can begin the repair - select System
recovery options
Now you will be presented with the system recovery options
box, here you will be able to see the size of your hard drives
partition containing Windows, highlight Microsoft Windows Vista
and select Next. (if you have a SCSI hard drive you
may need to load the drivers for this here, if your not sure
ignore this as you probably have a standard system)
The system repair will now begin to automatically check your
system for any errors, and hopefully fix them too.
The repair can take a while, ensure that its not stopped or
interrupted as this may result in further issues which can be
more problematic to fix.
Your may find your computer rebooting multiple times, this is
normal.
Once the Windows Vista repair has finished one of three
things can happen from here..
a) The issue will be fixed and after rebooting your computer
should work as normal.
b) You may be presented with the
Windows System Restore dialogue
box (A Windows Vista system restore will enable your computer to
revert back to a time before the error started to occur)
c) Windows cannot repair this computer automatically, if you get
this error I have personally found the most common cause to be
errors on the hard drive, boot from the Windows CD and using
using the recovery console and then running
CHKDSK seems to work much of
the time, but if the hard drive actually has a fault its
probably only a matter of time before it fails completely, and
will need to be replaced.
