Wireless Internet Card Forget the Wires

The Wireless Internet Card , where would you rather be working from on a nice warm day, in a stuffy office, or simply working wirelessly from your back garden or any where you choose.

This is the beauty of a wireless connection, with the right setup you can connect to the internet from anywhere in your home or garden, plus you can easily connect more than one computer to a single internet connection.

All you need is a way of sharing your internet connection, this can be done via a wireless router or hub, and then you simply need a WiFi internet card, these have come down in price a lot, and can now be picked up for a few dollars.

There are a number of WiFi cards you can choose from, for a laptop either USB or PCMCIA if it is not compatible with an internal card. The first choice would be the PCMCIA type there is no difference in performance, but the USB type does put a small load on the processor and thus makes the laptop get warmer.
If you are connecting to a desktop pc then you either have the choice of an internal PCI type of card or a USB, again I would not personally recommend the USB type, it works very well and if you really don’t want to be remove the computers case then by all means go for the USB type.

Wireless cards can be bought for around $10 dollars from many sites, e-Bay is a good place for this. One point to note is the speed, you’ll see two types of card speed available, these are 802.11b which is an older slower technology or 802.11g which is newer and faster, plus it only costs a few bucks more than the older type, so this is the one to go for.

Being able to surf the web from anywhere around your house really makes working enjoyable, of course you can’t guarantee getting more work done, but if you’re working in pleasant surroundings or away from noise, it can only help to make working a more relaxed experience.
